On July 25th, Academician Li Keqin visited our university’s academic lecture hall to share academic achievements and discuss inspiring life with teachers and students. Vice-president Jiang Huamao attended the academic exchange activity. The head of the Science and Technology Department, members of the leadership team of the First Clinical Medical School, representatives of teachers, students, and medical staff participated in the lecture.

In the lecture, Academician Li Keqin gave a lecture titled “To be indifferent and clear minded, to be peaceful and far-reaching; to strive for self-improvement and to carry things with great virtue”. Through detailed data and vivid cases, he told the story of his 40-year academic life and journey of hard work.He combined his academic achievements and research experience to explain his academic thoughts on the field of parallel and distributed computing in a clear and concise manner, and integrated them into traditional Chinese literature to share his “secrets to success” summarized in his research. He stated that academic life is a lonely and difficult life that is willing to sit on the “cold bench” for the progress of human scientific research. It is also a life full of motivation, dreams, and passion, as well as a life full of creativity and innovation. He hoped that the teachers and students of JZMU can be full of academic vitality and creativity, have confidence and courage to delve into the interdisciplinary field of medicine and engineering, and make achievements, using unremitting efforts to feel the passion and joy brought by academic research.

After the lecture, Academician Li Keqin interacted with the teachers and students on site, sharing unique academic insights and personal life experiences on hot topics related to the integration of medicine and engineering, interdisciplinary studies, artificial intelligence and other fields.
